Stresa Festival 2025: B&B and Tickets Cost

Jul 6, 2025

Festival Program & Highlights:

The 64th Stresa Festival runs from 17 July – 6 September 2025, with 22 concerts blending classical, jazz and world music. Events are staged in beautiful Lake Maggiore settings (Isola Bella, Isola Madre, Isola dei Pescatori, Stresa town, Angera, Leggiuno, Carpugnino, etc.) by day or under the stars. For example, the opening jazz gala Irish Traditional Music (Martin Hayes & Kate Ellis) is on Thu, Jul 17 at Isola Bella – an open-air concert with round-trip boat. Other highlights include The Fantastic Five big‑band jazz (Jul 18, Isola Madre) and Ana Carla Maza’s Caribbean tour (Jul 19, Stresa). In early August a free community “Concerto degli Amici del Festival” will be held in Gignese (the hilltown of Home Hartmann) on Aug 3. The season finale is a grand classical concert on Sat, Sep 6: the London Symphony Orchestra under Antonio Pappano, with cellist/artistic director Mario Brunello, performing Shostakovich, Schumann and Beethoven. (In total there are 21–22 events from July through early Sept.) The festival calendar (on the official site) lists each concert date, time and venue.

Buying Tickets:

Tickets can be bought online or in person. The Stresa Festival partners with Vivaticket, so all events are listed on the official festival site and Vivaticket’s website. Visitors can purchase tickets 24/7 online at stresafestival.eu or vivaticket.com. Alternatively, a festival box office operates in Stresa (via Carducci 38): Tel +39 0323 31095, email boxoffice@stresafestival.eu. The box office hours are typically Mon–Fri 10:00–13:00 (and until 17:00 on concert days; check the website). It’s advisable to book in advance as popular concerts (especially with limited boat transfers) can sell out. Young visitors can buy Under‑30 passes: a Music Pass (€10 per concert) or Company Pass (€5 per person, minimum 4). Once online or at the box office, tickets can be printed or shown on a phone; they are refundable up to 5 days before an event only if the concert is cancelled.

Ticket Pricing (EUR): Concert prices vary by event:

  • Standard concerts (jazz/world/classical): €25–50. Most popular outdoor concerts cost about €25–35. For example, the Irish Traditional Music concert is €35; family-oriented “Delicatoni” or “Paesaggi Sonori” events (Jul 30–31 on Isola dei Pescatori) are €25. Mid-summer recitals (Bach suites, Stabat Mater, folk songs) are usually €30–45.
  • Premium gala concerts: ~€45–€95. Chamber/orchestral programs at the Stresa Festival Hall or islands run €30–50. The closing gala London Symphony is highest-priced: €95 (Orchestra level) and €70 (Balcony).
  • Free concerts: Several events are free of charge. In 2025 the “Amici del Festival” concert on Aug 3 in Gignese is free, and three other concerts (26 Jul, 30 Jul, 31 Aug) are also free thanks to a local foundation. (Free events require pre-registration to reserve a spot.)
  • Under‑30 discounts: Music Pass (€10) and Company Pass (€5/person for groups of ≥4) allow young people to attend selected events at low cost.
  • Subscriptions (Abbonamenti): Multi-concert packages are available at a discount. The Green Pass (€50) covers 3 concerts (30–31 Jul & 1 Aug) plus one free choice of Aug 26, 27 or 30. The Silver Pass (€80) covers 3 chamber recitals at Stresa Hall (26–30 Aug). The Gold Pass (€250) covers 6 major concerts (all at Stresa Hall on 26 Jul, 19–20, 26–27, 30 Aug, 6 Sep). Cardholders of certain partner organizations (convenzioni) get ~10% off all tickets except the Sept 6 concert.

It’s set in Gignese (700m elevation) with a private park of century‑old trees and panoramic mountain views. From its terraces one can glimpse Lake Maggiore and the Alps. The atmosphere is intimate and family‑run – the owners aim to make guests feel “at home” with warm hospitality. This makes it ideal for couples and families: it’s peaceful yet only 10 minutes by car from central Stresa, putting festival concerts just a short drive or local-bus ride away. (A local SAF bus line 34 runs between Stresa and Gignese, or guests may take taxis.)

Hartmann Feel at Home offers serene rooms decorated in soothing “chakra” color schemes. Each guestroom has a private bathroom, high-quality linens and toiletries. Here, a Throat-Chakra room (indigo accents) provides restful comfort for two.

At Hartmann Feel at Home, we believe your room should reflect who you are and how you travel — not just what you can afford. Whether you’re watching the sunrise through the trees, journaling in bed, or coming home from a mountain hike, your room welcomes you back to yourself.

Seven rooms. Seven energies. One philosophy: rest, feel, and come home to you.

Amenities & Atmosphere: Common areas reinforce the homey feel. A cozy main lounge with fireplace invites guests to relax, and a sunny breakfast veranda serves a generous buffet each morning (fresh pastries, breads, fruit, yogurt and made‑to‑order coffee). Guests praise the hearty, locally-sourced breakfast and the hosts’ personal attention. There is also a yoga room on site (reflecting the theme of the B&B) and even a private yoga corner in the Swadhisthana suite. Outside, the villa’s 2,400 m² park has tranquil lawn areas, benches under trees and a swimming pool for guests. Couples will love the romantic garden and sunset views; families will appreciate the spacious suites and safe outdoor space. The friendly, multilingual owners provide local tips (from best dining to island boat schedules), so guests feel well cared-for. In short, Hartmann Feel at Home combines historic charm and modern comforts — an ideal, restful base for festivalgoers.

Getting to Stresa & Home Hartmann

  • By plane: The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa (MXP), about 45 km from Stresa. From Malpensa one can drive (50 min via A26 motorway to the Carpugnino/Stresa exit) or take trains. (By train, take the Malpensa Express to Busto Arsizio RFI, then a regional train to Stresa – total ~1½ h, €4.) A seasonal shuttle bus also runs MXP–Stresa (April–Sept) for about €9. Other airports: Milan Linate (LIN, 110 km) and Bergamo (Orio al Serio, 130 km) are farther; from Linate one can shuttle to Milano Centrale and train to Stresa. (Turin Caselle and Swiss airports are over 2 h away, so Malpensa is best.)
  • By train: Stresa’s railway station is on the Domodossola–Milan line. From Milan (Centrale or Garibaldi) there are many daily regional trains: journey time ~1–1.5 h, fare ~€5–14. For example, a train from Milano Centrale to Stresa (via Gallarate) takes ~1:10. Note: don’t get off at Busto Arsizio before changing onto the Domodossola train. From Swiss or Domodossola on, regular trains connect as part of the scenic “Lake Maggiore Express” route. At Stresa station (right by the lakefront), you can walk to town or take local transport.
  • By car: From Milan, take the A8 north toward Varese/Stresa, then join the A26 toward Gravellona. Exit at Carpugnino and follow signs for Stresa. From Switzerland, enter via the Sempione/Brig–Domodossola route and follow the A26 to Stresa. Stresa has paid parking (e.g. Piazza Marconi lot or covered garages) and pedestrian zones in high season. To reach Hartmann Feel at Home in Gignese, continue east from Stresa on SS33 toward Gignese/Mottarone, then climb the SP44/SP50 road (Salita Rognoni 10). (The B&B is only ~10 km/15 min from Stresa – see map.)

No matter how you arrive, Stresa is very walkable and the harbor is just a short walk from the train station or town center. From Stresa you can also reach the festival islands by public launch or taxi boat if you wish. This guide should help international visitors plan tickets and travel for a smooth, enjoyable Stresa Festival experience.
